Jan & Grant: Colorado Springs Engagement Photos

This weekend--in two days!--Jan and Grant will stand in front of parents, family, and so many friends & say their vows. There was a point where this wedding would have seemed impossible, like the farthest thing from reality. Jan and Grant dated in college. I am younger than these two, and thought along with everyone that they'd be the perfect match for each other.

However, like some dating relationships in college go, their ended. Tears were shed, dreams lost. Both moved on, and both moved. Moved to Colorado, actually. It took a while; months and months went by, until Grand and Jan took a step towards friendship and then dating again! They took their time, and even managed dating "long distance" while living in separate cities in Colorado.

Finally, finally, after months and years of patient waiting, Grant took Jan to a mentor couple's home for dinner in the spring. After the meal, they took a walk outside to admire the stars and each other's eyes. Grant sat them down on a bench, where he told her many of the things he loves about her, got down on one knee, and asked Jan to marry him! Of course she said yes, with tears (and LOUD squeals, if you know her, you know!). I was thrilled be picked as their wedding photographer, and it was so fun to photograph their engagement photos in October in Colorado Springs! We picked a few places to shoot, and the fall colors did not disappoint. Our first part of their engagement photos were taken at Sondermann Park in Colorado Springs. The golden light, white stripped log, and blue skies complemented each other so well! Then, because have you lived if you've done photos near Garden of the Gods park, we completed their session at Rock Ledge Ranch

I am so excited for this wedding! It's going to be held at the gorgeous La Foret Conference & Retreat Center in Colorado Springs on Sunday, and it's going to be the party of the year. :) Enjoy Grant and Jan's engagement photos!
