Naomi + James // In-home anniversary photos in Omaha

You may remember my recent post of Naomi and James’ one year anniversary photos. It was a unique photo session, because we did them in their apartment! Such a fun afternoon of coffee & records & documenting the space they’ve turned into a home, in a little suburb of Omaha.

After their intimate in-home photos, we switched things up and headed outside! It was the last day in October, and the trees were still waving colored and crinkled leaves in celebration of fall. The sun played hide-and-seek behind some clouds, but was bright enough to keep us warm without coats. James drove us to a nearby park, the one he ran laps around while training for a marathon last year. Huge props to anyone who can run more than a mile!!!

The park was pretty secluded. Only a few dog owners enjoying the final days of fall were around, so we had plenty of privacy for me to instruct and giggle and guide these two into poses and few kisses. ;)

You would think these two are models! Naomi and James continue to be some of the easiest people I know to photograph. It helps that we’re friends, but they also are just comfortable in their own skin and that makes a difference, too. :) The following black and white is completely candid and absolutely hilarious! I can’t remember what was happening (possibly impromptu singing!?) but I just had to throw it in the blog post!

That Nebraska sunset tho! *heart eyes* Omaha continues to be one of my favorite places to shoot weddings and engagement photos and just about anything. I’d love to book a few 2019 weddings in Omaha or Lincoln! It’s a gem of a place, and so close to where I am. Plus, I love visiting the Joslyn Art Museum (it was a field trip stop when I was studying photography in college!) because I can’t ever get enough art in my life. Shoot me a note if you’re looking to book a wedding photographer in the Omaha metro area! :)

Stay warm!
