Watching families develop, and photographing new life, tops my list of “some of my favorite things.” Newborn snuggles fit right in there, too. ;) My friend Rachel dreamed of being a mother since she was a girl, and after marrying Geoff a 5 years ago, thought those dreams might be close. A couple years of not getting pregnant turned into four, and they thought that a biological child might not be part of their life. Last February, a spontaneous at-home pregnancy test revealed surprising results… and these two were on their journey to officially becoming parents! I remember sitting in Drake Diner over lunch with Rachel, hearing her tell me the good news, and treasuring up the joy of this long-hoped for dream.

Meeting Evy in early November and then getting to photograph her newborn “at-home family photos” was a dream come true. Rachel and Geoff already show so much love to this little human, and I have no doubts that she’ll be one very cherished (and possibly spoiled!) daughter. :) Enjoy these lifestyle new family photos!
