This lifestyle newborn session was so precious to me in ALL the ways. Not only because Rachel and Nick have hired me since 2012 (!!!!) to capture their life together + the family they’ve created (see engagement, wedding, maternity, family photos)… but this little babe has been long awaited. Sweet baby Macie is a rainbow baby, that is, a child born after infertility or miscarriage. In light of that, the quote above and some “Narnia” inspired items decorate Macie’s nursery. Are you crying yet!? Cuz I am!

The Lord provided a house for Nick and Rachel just a few months ago, so they moved from Ames to Ankeny. Last week, they brought Macie home to a house with a porch, yard for family dog Willis to run in, and lots of space to grow up and play. Big sister is ever doting and just so sweet with the baby! It’s fun to watch her play the part of older sibling. :) I loved getting to spend the afternoon with them… and celebrate the new addition to their family! (Also happy birthday Nick, so sorry for crashing your birthday at home! 😳)
