I meant to have this post blogged long ago—but fall and early winter were chaos, and I just realized this week that Lindsey & Matt’s gorgeous fall wedding in the mountains of Colorado (in Silverthorne, near Vail!) had never been published. This beautiful venue and amazing wedding day deserves to be shown off on the blog, so here it is!
Photographing Colorado weddings is perhaps my very favorite thing. You can't go wrong with the scenic mountains in the background... no matter if you're married in Colorado Springs, or up in Breckenridge... you can have a great view for your wedding portraits! This day was incredible. Seriously! It needs to be shown off on Green Wedding Shoes or Junebug Weddings. Not just because the weather cooperated perfectly, but because the people involved made this day spectacular.
We started off the day at Anant Salon, in Frisco, Colorado. Lindsey, her bridesmaids, and sisters were getting ready doing hair and makeup, while sipping on mimosas and brunching on berries.
While the girls finished up the last makeup touches, I headed to the ceremony and reception venue, the Silverthorne Pavillion! It's everything you'd think a small town center in Colorado should be. Plus, its just minutes away from the Dillon Reservoir (you'll see that later!).
I love when couples exchange notes and gifts before the wedding. Matt's note (and present) definitely made her cry!
This bridal party was so fun! They even laughed at my poop jokes. Can I hire them for every wedding I photograph!? Also, I love the multi-colored bridesmaids dresses!
While guests mingled and the ceremony space was flipped for the reception, we snuck the newlyweds and their wedding party down to the Dillon Reservoir for some photos! The light coming over the mountains was perfect, and reflected just right off the water. I think that the sun brought the October temps up into the 50s, which is pretty good for that late in the fall! Every day leading up to and after was cloudy and cold... we had it made.
That view ain't Kansas (or Iowa!), friends. Those are real, gen-u-ine Colorado MOUNTAINS!
I just had to throw this photo of the bride & groom and myself in! I love getting photos taken with the couple on the day of the wedding. It is such a special thing for me to treasure!
Lindsey and Matt had a s'more bar instead of cake! I vote this happens at every wedding from now on.
