Naomi and James. The kinds of people who create a home wherever they are. Walls aren’t necessary, but welcome. Being with them, you feel as if nothing could go wrong in the world. There is hope and seeds of dreams that glisten in their eyes, history will tell of the Teuschmann family, of all the small ways they loved large. I joined them in their adorable, bright, and homey one-bedroom apartment, nested away in Papillion, Omaha, for some intimate anniversary photos. This last day of October was warm, sunny, and the perfect farewell to fall.
Of course these two have a record player & collection of records. So, of course, they picked out some favorites and danced together to the music, spinning up light, dust, and laughter.
It may not surprise you that Naomi is a lover of all things green and growing! There are so many plants of all shapes and sizes around her home. Each one has a story to tell! They’re her markers of time… like green, living stones that she holds on to with each changing home and season of life.
When I visited these friends this summer, Naomi made me pour-over coffee. It was my first time having some and it was INCREDIBLE. She and James love some good joe in the morning (or the afternoon, as the case may be!). Since this is part of their normal rhythm of life, they made coffee together shared it over giggles and kisses.
We ended the in-home portion with a few photos in their tiny, sweet bedroom. It’s full of more plants (surprise!), photos from their engagement session (you can see the blog post here), books and teacups and trinkets. The gorgeous floral hoops that are on the walls are leftover decorations from their wedding! I love how Naomi incorporates each part of her life into their home.
