Spontaneous, "just for fun" anniversary-style photos are obviously the best kind. Especially when they happen on the most gorgeous of evenings, in front of thousands of cherry blossoms in a Des Moines park! That's exactly what this session was. Emily and Parker hadn't had any professional photos taken since their engagement photos & wedding pictures four years ago in Wyoming. Three years ago --one year into marriage!-- they moved to Iowa. That was when our paths crossed, and my life was changed for the better.
It's impossible to walk away from a conversation with Emily or Parker discouraged. You'll always feel more yourself, and like nothing could go wrong the rest of your day! These two have hearts of gold. They're currently using their lives to mentor college students at Iowa State University, and Parker's finishing up his final year of Veterinary Medicine there. (Actually, he's staffing the Animal Learning Center building at the Iowa State Fair! Say hi if you see him helping birth a calf!)
SWEET MERCY! These two brought some magical goodness to our session.
Can we just take a moment to stop and appreciate the beauty of these flowers!? I'm always amazing at them. Water Works Parks never disappoints--and the smell of the cherry blossoms is surreal. Also, they look kind of like paper flowers. Some of the prettiest of God's designs, in my book!
And what's a sunset session at Water Works Park without running out towards the sunset!? I pulled out some music for these two, who kindly obliged my request for them to dance. ;)
