Mackenzie and I met through our church, where she works with high school students. The first time we met up for coffee, I could tell that we had enough in common to get along pretty well. ;) After that, we kept grabbing coffee or lunch, and at one memorable lunch this past spring she casually dropped the words “my boyfriend” in our conversation. Turns out, there was a cute guy named Kyle that she’d met on a dating app… and things were moving along!

Finally, this fall, Mackenzie pulled me aside to see what my wedding availability was for 2020! Kyle hadn’t proposed yet… but they knew it was coming up soon. Even though I’m already booked on their date (so sad to not be able to attend!) I was SO honored when Kenzie asked me to photograph their engagement photos. We had a relatively nice evening in downtown Des Moines, and these two made conversation a breeze. Enjoy some of my favorites from this joy-filled engagement session!
