It’s long been on my heart to find a way to throw a party for the brides who choose to hire me. After all, I take this job and responsibility seriously! It’s a HUGE honor to be chosen, out of the countless other photographers in the area… let alone the world. I’m just a simple girl with a heart to help brides have high quality memories and moments on their wedding day. And so, to show my gratitude, I invited the women who had hired me for 2019 to come for an afternoon of treats and learning!
Only a handful of the women invited were able to attend. Life just gets busy! But we had a great time together. I knew that I wanted to include some of my favorite things, so I picked up some fresh fruit, chocolate sandwich cookies, mimosa ingredients, and of course, macarons!!! (La Mie carries them daily, so if you’re located in Des Moines you simply must try them.) They’re quite pricy, but oh so delicious!
My friend Lynda, who owns and runs a local Des Moines floral shop, was so kind to teach a class on flower crown creation for us!!! I’ve been pretty obsessed with flower crowns for the past 5 years or so. Ladies, I’ll NEVER object to you bringing one along to a shoot! ;)
Lynda provided a variety of flowers and greenery. Ferns were a popular choice, along with some sweet little roses. Aren’t the pastel pinks and whites perfect tones for spring!?
I didn’t take many photos during the class, since I was also building a creation of my own! After we finished up, the sunshine beckoned us outside. So we finished off with a mini shoot of each gal wearing her design. It was so fun to celebrate each gal and her unique take on the flowers and greens provided.
A huge THANK YOU to Lynda for imparting your wisdom to us on floral design! It was a wonderful way to spend a spring afternoon. Des Moines brides, check out Lynda for your floral needs. She won’t disappoint!
