I met Kyle & Nicole last fall, just after my move to the Des Moines area. They were looking for a wedding photographer, and so we met up at Smokey Row to chat. It went great, they booked me, and we had a wonderful evening taking their engagement photos in Ankeny by the lake. Both Nicole and Kyle are super fun yet relaxed types, so I knew their wedding day would be wonderful. And it was! From seeing the gals get ready at Estilo’s Salon in West Des Moines and laugh over old stories, to Nicole’s confidence that despite morning rainstorms they’d have sun later for their outdoor ceremony (we did!!!) it was the perfect day.
I’d heard so much about NOAH’s Event Center in West Des Moines and was thrilled to finally shoot there. It’s a great location, right on the edge of West Des Moines! There’s construction happening there (classic Iowa summers) but a field across the street was just what we needed for some outdoor bridal party portraits after the first look. Also, the florals and indoor decor by the Noah’s team & Something Chic were EVERYTHING. Nicole has great taste!!
The whole wedding crew and their friends took a bus out to the Brenton Arboretum. It was my first time out there, and such a blast to get to see this lovely space! You all know I’ll be back now that I’m a member. ;) These friends had such fun together, it was great to see them enjoying the aftermath of the ceremony!
