WOW. What a year. What a WEEK!!!
Last Tuesday, when everything seemed to change overnight, I decided along with Madeline’s mom that we would continue with her senior photos as planned. After all, we had decent weather and could keep a distance (for the most part!). And I wanted to do what I could to give Madeline something “normal” to the end of her senior year. Madeline goes to Valley in West Des Moines, and found my blog through a google search. She emailed me, and the three of us met for drinks at Smokey Row in Des Moines to plan out some fun ideas for her seniors. I’m praying that people stay home, self-isolate, and that life can get back to a more “normal” way by summertime. After all, Madeline and I have more ideas that we had to table for this senior photo session. ;)
I hope that these photos bring you joy in the days of self-quarantine. I, for one, am learning so much about what it looks like to slow down at home. To use everything I have in my fridge and pantry, and be creative in the kitchen. To take more walks with my sister, drink more tea, and spend more time in prayer and talking with Jesus. It’s hard, for sure, especially as a small business owner who is fully supported by seniors, family photos, and weddings (aka large events!). Worrying won’t make a difference, however, so I’m choosing to invest what I have from my disposable income into other local businesses. And, still booking the occasional shoot! Don’t be afraid to reach out. We can social distance in nature together, and make some fun photos! Or, book me now and we’ll schedule once it’s safe to be in closer proximity. :)
Wishing all of you lots of health, safety, and hugs from your family or housemates,
Amelia
