Senior photo sessions usually end up making me belly laugh, jump around in long grass excitedly, and drive home in a blissful state of mind. Summer is the most popular season for senior photos, yet I love the allure of a springtime session. After all, there aren’t quite as many mosquitos (read: mosquito bites!) and the Iowa humidity hasn’t reached its full potential. Des Moines, sitting in the center of the state, holds many secluded spots, perfect for the most magical of senior pictures. I’m hoping to find some new riverbanks, woodsy wildflower groves, and alleyways for my Class of 2021 senior photos.
I love these re-discovered photos that Miranda and I took a few springs ago. The bluebells were just starting to bloom, and we found a quiet path in the woods… perfect for the imaginary picnic with fairies. ;) Spring brings out the child in all of us, and this shoot was full of childlike wonder and beauty. I am committed to discovering new spaces and hidden gem locations in central Iowa for each of my seniors. Whether they choose downtown des moines, or the middle of a cornfield past Granger, you can bet that we’ll make some magical senior portraits for you and your friends to enjoy (and a few for mom and grandma, too!). ;)
