Spring— the season of new life, renewal, and joyful flower buds accompanied by singing flowers. Does anyone else feel the same way!? May is one of my favorite months, with warm (but not hot!) days and so many wonderful families, couples, and individuals to photograph in-between rain-showers. When I received Emily’s email, asking if I had time to capture their sweet growing family, I jumped at the opportunity! Emily and Daniel are parents to sweet Jane, and expecting baby number two just next month! Since I usually like to photograph maternity photos during the 7th month (i’ve had so many friends’ babies come early!) I offered them a session in just two days. It worked out, with just the perfect amount of sun and cloud cover— and of course, an unhappy one year old. ;) Haha! Kids will be kids, and Jane is no exception. But we managed to snag some wonderful moments, regardless of her spirited independence. I love capturing family and maternity photos in my sweet hometown of Cedar Falls, and the University of Northern Iowa will always feel like my first home-away-from-home!
Emily and Daniel, it was WONDERFUL to meet you and I’m so eager to hear about your sweet new addition in just a month or so. It’s so clear you care about people, and I know that the new church you are planting this year will care well for the lives and souls of so many! Thanks again for letting me take your family photos. :)
