David and Susie are two peas in a pod (as stated on their wedding website!) and it couldn’t be more true. When we met for coffee back in March, they put me instantly at ease with their kindness and intentionality towards me. It’s so refreshing to connect with couples who see me as more than a photographer, but as a possible friend and person beyond the job… and that’s how I’ve felt with these two since day one!!
Their story is so enjoyable: David noticed Susie at work at John Deere, but she wasn’t interested right away. They bumped into each other at Old Navy and talked for a loooooong time, surrounded by sweaters and mannequins. Eventually a friendship was formed over office talk and donuts, which turned into a first date in classic CF style: Movies under the Moon in Overman Park, followed by a late night walk and first kiss. ;) Now they’re planning a September wedding that will be faith-centered with a side of good food and drink! I’m so excited to watch their love story continue to unfold in marriage… and hopefully our friendship will continue past the wedding. I think you’ll enjoy viewing these photos as much as I did taking them… without further ado, Susie and David!
One of Susie’s only requests was stopping on the way to the ceremony and taking a few photos with her dad’s vintage car!! Such a fun memory for her to share with him!
The wedding and reception took place at the local Fox Ridge Winery! It was the most GORGEOUS set up and I hope to photograph more weddings here someday. Such beautiful Iowa countryside of rolling green hills, vineyards, and the perfect setup to watch the sunset!
