As an adult, meeting other humans that you enjoy is just a total delight- and Clara & Duy ring true in that area! These two met in Vermont, in college, and became friends. They started dating, and after graduation, Clara moved back to the midwest for a job… and Duy followed her! However, he has lived 2 hours away in Omaha for the past 2 years, so they’ve navigated new cities, starting out in “adulthood” and a mid-distance relationship. It’s had challenges, for sure, but it’s been so sweet to watch them persevere, and find joy in the journey of it all.
Duy set up the neatest proposal for Clara at her parents’ home over the holidays, and now they’re preparing for him to finally move to Des Moines this spring. They’ll get married this fall, back in Vermont, and I know it will be just a wonderful celebration —full circle, in every way. This session was a hybrid Christmas gift to Duy from Clara, and engagement session- we somehow got the last of the snow from this odd “winter”. I think it was gorgeous, and I’m so excited to get to spend more time with these two together, once Duy arrives in DSM!
