I’ve long wanted to be a photographer in a styled shoot. When I met Lynda this fall, we started talking about the idea of collaborating. Autumn was super busy for me— half the time I wondered if I’d ever catch up on sleep! But I made it to November, and Lynda pulled together a great group of Des Moines area wedding vendors to style a shoot on a Sunday afternoon. It was chilly and grey outside, but inside the barn venue we warmed up with French-inspired snacks and wine and laughter.
Lynda also pulled together pretty much all the props— table settings thrifted from Stuff Etc. and fresh floral designs that she created! We worked together to set up the decor on her gorgeous wooden table. Place settings just so, a few white roses and taper candles, vintage pink wine glasses, eucalyptus and white pumpkins to pull in a little bit of classy fall vibes made everything perfect!
We took the girls outside for a few photos. These gorgeous dresses were on loan from Weddings by Design! For early November, it was really cold so we didn’t stay out on the lawn very long. I wish we’d had the chance to explore more— Country Lane Lodge is surrounded by acres of gorgeous, wooded land. The owner, Kendra, told me that they often see wild turkeys, deer, and other fowl! What a magical place to get married!
Aren’t these flower crowns gorgeous!? Does anyone want to have Lynda teach a flower crown workshop sometime?! Because I AM SO IN.
Wedding florist Lynda O’Hara of Lavender Blue Floral offered her experience in creating the perfect wedding bouquets and flower crowns for this bridesmaid bunch! None of this could possibly look as good as it did without the pampering of Nicole DeMondo on makeup, & Jenn Christianson, hair designer. Many thanks to Kendra of Country Lane Lodge for the use of the wedding venue in Adel (just outside Des Moines city limits!).
