This was such a special shoot! Selia and Brennan asked me to photograph their engagement and wedding photos a few years back. I happily photographed their engagement session, but was still in Mongolia that summer when they got married. Back then, I more "knew of" these two than anything else. Now, I consider Selia a dear friend and companion! It's been two years since they got married, and the two of them will be leaving Ames and moving to St. Louis this month for Brennan's job. To commemorate their time in Ames, they asked me to photograph some anniversary photos! And we had the perfect evening to shoot...
We started out by recreating a few of their engagement photos! (See that session here.) Iowa State University has been such a foundational place for both Selia and Brennan, so it was fun to revisit where we took their engagement pictures, and reminisce on the past 5 years!
The golden light was out in full force on ISU campus that evening!
You can't have an anniversary (or engagement) session on campus without a few kissing photos under the campanile ;)
We switched up locations, and had a quick wardrobe change. Selia and Brennan requested doing part of their session out near Towers, where they both had lived as students and have ministered during their marriage. Of course I was up for that! Plus, it's right by the ISU cross country course, and some gorgeous fields.
Selia & Brennan, you two are going to have an incredible life in STL. It will be so fun to watch you both flourish in a new place, a new home, and make new friends! Thanks for including me in your life, and always thinking of me to photograph your life. Love you guys!
