When college friends get married, it’s an exciting thing to hear. Erika and I became friends when we had not one, but two!, history classes together the same year at Iowa State. It made more sense when I discovered that she (unlike myself) was a history major. ;) A few years ago, she moved up north to the twin cities and just in the past year, got engaged to John! I’d seen photos of him and heard about John, but we never actually met until their wedding day, crazily enough. Once I saw these two interact, everything made perfect sense. These two enjoy each other immensely, and their wedding day in Rosemount, Minnesota was an accurate representation of this pair. From Erika’s cat shoes and teal wedding dress to the flowers from her mother’s garden on the head table to the vintage 1970s corvette…this wedding day displayed John & Erika’s wonderfully fun selves!!
Such a sweet first look outside the Steeple Center! I loved watching the tenderness that Erika and John have towards each other.
Typical for July, the heat seemed to surround like a very cozy blanket. So the bridal party headed back inside to hydrate and cool down, just as guests started arriving. One unique aspect of the Rosemount Steeple Center is that both ceremony and reception can be in the old renovated chapel! It’s a gorgeous space, with lovely woodwork and stained glass.
Erika and John pretty much danced down the aisle after the pronouncement! Such literal joy :) The guests enjoyed charcuterie boards and drinks during the cocktail hour, while we snuck out for family photos. The staff at the center rearranged the room and were immensely helpful. Highly highly recommend booking this venue for your Twin Cities wedding, friends!
We snuck out for a few quick “sunset photos” — although July sunsets in Minnesota aren’t until 9 or so! Not quiiiite sunset, but the diffused light was actually perfect. John’s refurbished a vintage car of Erika’s family. I think it’s a 1970s Corvette Stingray?? SO COOL!
