Intimate and romantic photos take the cake for “best kind of photo shoot”. And you know what’s even better? Doing them spontaneously at home! (Y’all know I love in-home photos so much!!)
Amelia and Kurtis live above the city skyline, with a perfect view of sunset. After taking photos for her small business (check out Amelia’s art!!!) Kurtis joined us on their patio for an unprompted “anniversary” session of sorts. They have 18 months of marriage in the books, which is just as valid to celebrate as a traditional yearly anniversary! It’s been fun to watch their relationship unfold, and I stood in awe to see them so comfortable and kind with each other. Kurtis nurtures Amelia’s artistic and spontaneous personality, while she brings out his smile and laugh even more. Their home is a safe space— many college students, refugees, and normal everyday folk walk through their doors and are met with mugs of coffee or tea, a sweet snack, and space for deep conversation. The privilege of calling these two friends is all mine, and I hope to visit them again soon. Amelia and Kurt, I hope you love looking back on these photos from the last day of 2019— and see that your love has grown even deeper and stronger in the years to come. Proost!
