I’m SO grateful to have gotten connected to these two humans! I really think it was Jesus seeing me, and knowing that this past year has been so lonely (working from home as an already self-employed person and extrovert!). Abbie responded to a model call on Instagram. These photos were needed for a project I’m working on, and it juuuust so happens that these two just got engaged a few weeks before this! So it was fun to take photos of them during this extra-unique stage of life and relationship.
Abbie and Ben met in college, and were friends for a good while … before it turned into more. ;) They’re genuinely in love, and both are so kind and funny with each other! Ben spontaneously whipped out some swing dancing moves towards the end of the night and it was just a joy to watch them together. I know they’ll make wherever they land a better place, and I am definitely hoping for some summer nights hanging out with them in the future.
We started on the edge of downtown Des Moines, and it was so easy from the get-go. Even with my awkwardness and stumbling over words (happens when you work at home and don’t talk all day hahahaha). Then we headed to a garage rooftop location downtown to watch the sun set behind the Des Moines skyline. It was literally the PERFECT night, especially since it was 50 degrees in March! What a gift.
Abbie and Ben, thank you again for a fantastic evening! I’m so glad it worked out :)
