IOWA BASED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
THIS BLOG POST IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES TO MAKE - BUT THE LAST TWO YEARS UNFORTUNATELY DIDN’T GET ONE due to TIME constraints. And, HONESTLY, IT’S A CHALLENGE TO PICK FROM THE *THOUSANDS* OF PHOTOS I HAVE ON MY HARDDRIVES TO NARROW DOWN TO ONE SMALL POSTING. AND HOW DO I ARTICULATE MY thankfulness for each and every COUPLE?!
IT WILL BE DIFFICULT… BUT I’M GOING TO DO MY BEST. ;)
I’m SO thrilled to share my “2022 Wedding Highlights” blog post TODAY! Of course, I think that some of these “favorite” photos would change depending on the day because I overshot like CRAZY this year (one gallery I sent out was over 900 photos which is overwhelming just thinking about!!) so picking a favorite from each wedding is like … choosing a favorite flower. There are just too many wonderful ones!
This year was so full, and held both LARGE dance parties and intimate backyard weddings.
My favorite places to shoot weddings at this year were at Honey Creek Resort in Moravia, Black Iris Estate in Indiana, Wilson’s Ciderhouse near Iowa City, a country church wedding around central Minnesota, Sugar Grove Vineyard outside of Newton, and The Tea Room + the new Surety Hotel in downtown Des Moines. Hundreds of incredible vendors made each wedding magical and wonderful experiences, for all involved in the day.
I think I grew most this year in my detail photos, and in 2023 I hope to be even more on the shutter to capture your candid moments (hugs, tears, and laughs) with family and friends. My 2nd shooters this year did a fantastic job helping me out, and a few of the photos below were taken by our associate photographers!
