Fall in Iowa can be temperamental- hot, cold, rainy, even snow! But thankfully we had a STUNNING autumnal season in 2022, and Claire’s evening for seniors was a little windy, but otherwise beautiful. If you haven’t noticed, lighting is HUGE for photography, so we try to start senior sessions in the last couple hours of sunlight to capture golden hour.
Since she lives in the WDM area, we started in historic Valley Junction to soak up the cute downtown vibes. She started off quiet, but we definitely got to chatting more and more as her photo session went on. After an outfit change, we headed to Dale Maffit Lake for some nature photos. This place is stunning in all seasons, and I loved getting to enjoy the quiet of the water and the birds while Claire rocked her senior pictures. She really had it down by the end of our time together!
