I've been inspired by this post I made on Instagram. Why not blog it… and share my answer as well!? Interviewing your wedding vendors is an important step in the process. You want to be thorough, making sure they align with your values, budget, and vision for your day. And of course, we all know that photography is one of the most important (if not THE most important) decision you’ll make, since you’ll be looking at your wedding photos in years to come! (For reference, few others will remember your meal or first dance song.)
✨ “how many weddings have you done, and how many years have you been in business?”
(my answer: I’ve been photographing weddings for 10+ years, and have been behind the camera for close to 200 weddings now!!)
✨ “can we set up a call or meeting with you to get a feel for if our personalities mesh?”
(my answer: ABSOLUTELY! nothing makes me happier than a consult call with neat humans + getting to chat about wedding plans, and just life things-like how much you love your cat!)
✨”can we see a full gallery of your work?”
(my answer: heck yes you can! I cycle through a few, so let me know if you want to see more)
✨ “do you have a backup camera & do you have duel slots?”
(my answer: YES. I have 2 camera bodies, and both have duel slots- meaning that I shoot on 2 cards to make sure they don’t corrupt + we lose your photos - something that happens occasionally to us photographers)
✨ “how long do you expect turnaround to be until we receive our edited images? do you provide sneak peeks?”
(my answer: my contract states 6-8 weeks, but I try to get weddings back within 3-4 weeks unless I’m in “aweddingeveryweekened” busy season)
✨ “what planning services do you provide to help us maximize our day?”
(my answer: timeline walkthroughs, vendor suggestions, and a magazine that you’ll get in the mail to help walk you thorugh so much more!)
✨ “do you have a flash/are you comfortable using it?”
(my answer: yes! I actually have a few flash options, and though I will stick with natural light if I can, I’m confident in using my flash for your reception should we need it!)
