Every wedding day is special to me- but this one is extra sweet, because Michelle is one of my best friends & she married the love of her life, Matt, in November. I was able to be there to photograph & celebrate with them- such a joyful day!

Whitney & Daniel snagged the most popular day of 2020 for their wedding… October 10! (Aka 10/10/2020!) They had a fabulous day planned but with Covid-19 changes, they decided to switch to a more intimate day, celebrating with family and close friends in Des Moines. Whitney and Daniel waited SO patiently throughout the month of April for the weather to warm up and things to settle down with COVID to schedule engagement photos. (We actually planned to take them in April, but pushed photos back to May… and honestly I’m so glad we did because we had the MOST gorgeous night!) You’re going to love this couple. They’re so much fun, and it’s going to be a blast celebrating their wedding in October!!!
Mary Beth and Dan planned their dream wedding day for the last Friday in April. We chatted on the phone in November, and again in person in March. What none of us knew was that a global pandemic would radically change their wedding day plans… but never, ever, their marriage plans. ;) Instead of a large wedding ceremony at St Ambrose with a reception full of friends at the Tea Room, these two held an intimate ceremony. I’m behind on editing and short on time.. so here’s a quick little blog post of Lisa and Mitch’s sweet late summer engagement photos. These two ooze fun and playfulness, and I’m SO excited to party with them when they get married in 2020!
I met Kyle & Nicole last fall, just after my move to the Des Moines area. They were looking for a wedding photographer, and so we met up at Smokey Row to chat. It went great, they booked me, and we had a wonderful evening taking their engagement photos in Ankeny by the lake. Both Nicole and Kyle are super fun yet relaxed types, so I knew their wedding day would be wonderful.
Jenna and Treye’s wedding took place on one of the most popular days in June! And what a day it was. A few rainstorms hit Pella right before their first look was going to take place, but Jenna took it in stride. Sure enough, after waiting it out, the rains passed and the sun came out (bringing humidity right along with it!). Classic Iowa summers.
