Senior Portraits
Elizabeth knew that she would be getting braces this spring, so we scheduled her for my senior photo package that allows her to do photos in not one but TWO seasons! We took photos in March, and I never got around to blogging them… but I’m so excited to meet up with her again and take more photos this fall.
Even with some rain, we had fun running from the east side of campus to the west and all ‘round the campanile. Between a mix of serious and fun photos, Doz rocked them all and it was a fast hour together. Carly stepped in for a few of them together… they’re so perfect for one another, it was easy to see that! Enjoy Doz’s graduation photos at ISU in Ames!
Zoe’s senior photos took place on a humid Iowa evening, but you wouldn’t even know how hot it was outside by her calm smiles! She graduates this year from Valley High School in West Des Moines, and will be on to new adventures this fall at university. Enjoy a few favorites from my time with this sweet dancer!
What could be better than celebrating graduating from Vet Med school (with honors!!) at Iowa State, than by a grad photo session!? I can’t think of anything. Monique and I snapped some great photos for her to show off to family and friends… see more in the blog post!
Cierra jumped in front of my camera with the ease of a gal familiar with modeling. She did so well, and we had fun (despite the humidity!) taking photos around the Des Moines Art Center and downtown. This session had a good mix of nature + city vibes, and I can’t wait to see which ones her mom hangs up on the wall!

This sweet gal traveled to Des Moines just to have me take her senior portraits! It was an honor— and SO MUCH FUN! I think we went over our time (the sun definitely set on us!) but it was worth the end photos we got. Amber is a blast to hang out with, and her East Village senior pictures are some of the highlights of my career!!

Leah goes to school in Humbolt, and our original plan was for her to come down to Des Moines for her senior photos. Well, weather changed plans (as happens in Iowa!) and we rescheduled to a new date with time constraints. So, Ames became our landing spot and did we have THE BEST NIGHT for her seniors or what!? She was so sweet, and I just loved her style & confidence! Check out some of my favorites.
Emma’s seniors turned out so well! It helps that we’re friends & she seemed at ease in front of the camera. We laughed a lot, and enjoy two wonderful evenings— one downtown Des Moines, the other out at Brenton Arboretum for some gorgeous nature photos. Enjoy!

I’ve said it many times… and I’ll say it again. I LOVE being a senior portrait photographer! And I also am convinced that I get to work with the sweetest, kindest senior gals. Sarah fits that description perfectly, and if you can’t tell that just by her stunning smile and enchanting eyes, well… you might be blind. ;)
Claire found me through Instagram (of course!!) and booked me for her summer senior photos. We clicked immediately, and spent a few hours laughing together around the downtown Des Moines area. Claire attends high school in Huxley, at Ballard High, where she’ll be a senior this year! She plans to study music and is going to be great at her future pursuits—I have a feeling that any high schooler who can rock a blazer can do anything!
You won’t believe how much fun this photo session was! Kennedy is going to be a senior this coming school year, and we explored downtown Des Moines and the surrounding area for some really fun senior pictures. Check out the blog post for the perfectly sunny evening, and lots of sweet photos.
This session was full of great light and lots of laughter, and even some magical wildflower fields! Hannah giggled at all my dumb jokes, and made our time together a blast! I uploaded a few new photos, along with some previous work, because I’m having such a blast with the class of 2021! Summer is my favorite season to take senior photos —maybe this will show you why! The light is soft, we get late sunsets and lots of pretty wildflowers. Plus, it might be hot… but at least it isn’t cold! Madeline officially graduates from high school this month, and although we took her senior photos back in March, it was chilly and overcast… so we decided to take a few more with the green spaces and flowers that pop up in late spring. The Rose Gardens in Des Moines set us up for the perfect June evening— I’ll never get tired of it! Plus, I hadn’t taken any senior photos there yet, so I’m glad Madeline was up for it. :) She brought along her cap, gown, and tassels for the occasion, perfect for celebrating high school graduation!
Never before seen on this blog— this super fun senior session took us all over town! We explored the river and wildflowers running through town, to her front stoop at home and some gorgeous alleyways downtown, and ended on the tennis court to commemorate Ariana’s time playing on the tennis team in high school! Pandemic or not, time marches on. Including schooling and graduation! Cory is a 2020 graduate of Iowa State University, and he wanted to commemorate this milestone with some professional senior photos. It was a joy to meet this young man, and capture photos for him to remember this season of life. Congrats to the Class of 2020!
