It’s incredible when bucket list dreams come true…. this session is one of those for me!!! I remember back when I was just “starting” out in the photography world at age 15. My favorite photographers were scattered around the world, but a good number of them located in California. I vividly remember seeing blog posts and Instagram photos of Joshua Tree National Park, and the windmills in Palm Springs. I honestly don’t even know if I had the vision to dream to photograph here one day!!! But, 10+ years later, it happened. IT REALLY HAPPENED!
Not only did this session happen, but I got to spend the evening with these two incredibly kind, smart, and fun humans! Lydia and Eugene have been dating for years now, and they have such a comfortability with one another that only can come from years of life alongside each other. I’d met Lydia at her cousin’s wedding in 2019 (which I photographed) but Eugene wasn’t able to come all the way from Irvine, CA. It was great to finally meet him, and get to know these two as a couple! They were true champions, as the wind is apparently BAD in springtime in Palm Springs. (Things nobody tells ya!!!) Blowing sand hurts, y’all!
Regardless of blowing sand in my eyes and camera (rip)…. this session will stand out as a favorite of mine for a long time! We had a beautiful evening thanks to desert climate with little humidity and chance of rain. Honestly kinda ideal for photographers. Hmmmm…. oops! I got distracted. ;) Enjoy this sweet couple’s session in some of beauty of southern California!!
the sun dipped down behind the San Jacinto mountains, and the wind picked up. like…. REALLY picked up. I’m a little surprised we didn’t get more scratches on our skin from all the blowing sand! apparently spring is the windy season in Palm Springs. who knew!? (regardless, these are some of my favorite photos!)
