New York City has been on my list of dream travel plans for over 10 years, and this trip did not disappoint. After putting it off for so long (the pandemic didn’t help, ha!) we turned daydreams into reality. I literally had the best night of my life, got to eat so much good food, and had the “You’ve Got Mail” soundtrack on repeat in my head for our handful of days in the Big Apple. I can’t wait to share highlights of my dreamy first trip to NYC with you all!

My first time in San Diego did not disappoint. You really can’t beat this city, and there’s a reason it’s so beloved by locals and tourists alike! I sure hope to return- and in the next few years, if I can manage it.
Back on one of the most beautiful islands I’ve experience- here’s what went down!
Meet Brittany and Hans! Two adventurous lovebirds that love travel (and their home in SoCal!). It was a joy to meet them & photograph them during this trip, and I hope we meet again!
Am I a travel influencer yet!? HA! I wish. ;) But nope, just a photographer who loves to travel and will ALWAYS be happy to share about the adventures abroad!! Click through for my first time adventuring in Naxos, Greece!
The dream of visiting Greece came about in high school, when I watched the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (and later, Mamma Mia) for the first time with my three best friends at the age of 16. The four of us talked about traveling together, but with two of them married, and us all working full time, crazy opposite schedules… I decided that I didn’t want to wait for something that probably wouldn’t ever happen. I hope you enjoy a few of the photos from my time in Joshua Tree!
Some ideas of things to do this summer in Des Moines, Iowa!!
Just my best friend modeling in the Arizona desert… nothing better!
Ada and James invited me out to Boston, to take engagement photos before they marry in Iowa this summer. Ada & I’ve known each other for years, both going to Iowa State University and then living in the Ames area after college working our first “real” jobs! James & Ada met then, and now are preparing for married life. I’m so excited for them!
My time in Palm Springs!
Words can’t describe how special this session was to me! We took these on the outskirts of Palm Springs, and the California light had me drooling. These two are pretty cute, too! ;)
I’m all about the LIGHT. You know this if you’ve read my posts for any amount of time. After all, light makes photography happen. And I’m learning that desert light may be my FAAAAVORITE kind!!! Click through to see this sweet couple’s session in Arizona evening sunshine!
You’ve never seen an early morning session quite like this! The sun slowly popped over the Tonto National Forest. Soft sunlight woke both us and the desert up in a golden bath of light. And Tina shone most brightly, a stunning soul reflecting Light into the world around her. Click to see more from this fashion session in the desert of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Some work, some play, all sun for two days! This whirlwind trip to the Phoenix, Arizona area was a lovely break from winter. I’m starting to think this girl was made for warmer climates + very possibly the desert! Read more to hear about some highlights from this quick few days.
It’s been 11 months since I kicked off two months of (almost) straight travel! My birthday returns each December, and as I’ve made my way into the “late 20’s” I choose a way to celebrate life with friends, activities that bring me joy, and usually some good food & drink. :) Last year, in Dec. 2019, I voyaged to Nashville— the city of music! Two concerts by a few of my very top artists drew me there, and I definitely left part of my heart in that sweet city. Enjoy some of my rambling thoughts & sweet memories of Nashville, TN!
I can’t believe this trip happened. Heather and I almost always plan a trip after one of our friends gets married… last time it was Seattle, this year…. Moab, Utah! This trip cost us less than $500 total apiece (honestly less than that… my flights were $200 so the Utah portion was more like $300) and full of amazing views and great memories. I can’t wait to go back someday!
Everyone has their own bucket list, and photographers have two— their personal one, and their business bucket list!!! This girl has a looooong list of locations that I can currently only dream of traveling to for the purpose of photographing a proposal, engagement, or even “elopement” style wedding! I don’t know that my list has ever formally been shared on the blog before… so I’m laying it out now and throwing it into the world wide web! Maybe, just maybe, someone I know will decide to take me up on a destination engagement (or anniversary or wedding!) session. Because you really don’t have to look far for some really epic spaces!
Newly minted bride and groom, you sneak away with your wedding photographer to grab some romantic and picturesque photos on the lush island of Kauai. After all, it’s not every day that you get married in Hawaiian paradise! These wedding portraits will be some of your favorite photos for years to come.
A year ago, I would have never guessed that in the beginning of 2020 I would be on a series of flights to HAWAII! Let alone, camera in hand, to photograph some styled engagements and weddings!!!! This entire trip came together so smoothly, I know that it was meant to be. 8 wonderful days on two gorgeous islands in paradise, a photography workshop, and lots and lots of sunshine. I couldn’t have planned a better first trip to the Aloha State if I was a wizard!
