I don’t get the opportunity to photograph much in a fashion/editorial style. Oh how I wish that were different!!! One of my college projects (like… 10 years ago!) was photographing a fashion set, and I had a blast. It’d be so fun to get to collaborate with a local boutique … or just models for a styled shoot. Whatever. 💁🏻♀️
Justine and I met years ago, + we’ve kept in touch with occasional comments on social media and rare coffee chats. Finding out that we would both be in the same area of Arizona at the same time? God’s good gift to us!! We connected about finally taking some photos (we’d brought the idea up a long time ago, but it never came to pass). And WOW OH WOW am I obsessed!!! Early morning shoots are a beast to wake up for. BUT ALWAYS WORTH IT. The light does get harsh fast, so thankfully we had mountains to keep it at bay. Soft desert light… a dream come true. 😍
Scottsdale was probably my favorite spot to photograph in Phoenix. I love the flat land here, peppered with cacti and rocks… mountains in the back, reflecting the soft light our direction. Early morning birds sang as the sky changed colors from deep velvet to hues of peach and blue. Tina wore ripped jeans, a black bodysuit, and her mama’s vintage blazer. The perfect outfit to tie together her modern fashion sense, yet a nod of respect to her heritage + family. Go give her a follow on Instagram! She’s always a bright spot in my feed. :)
