2022 was a much busier year of photographing weddings than I expected, but in the sweetest way. I had SO many wonderful couples to work with, and we saw snow, rain, and extreme heat. 9 of the 12 months held weddings, and each one was full of kind souls that made the long days and sometimes overnight travel worth it.
I love when couples decide to move forward with their dreams- for Kyla and Sam, that was an outdoor ceremony. Even with the rain, it was sweet and beautiful and perfect. Check out more of this Cedar Falls Rotary Reserve wedding day!!
This wedding day… one of the best couples, and just the most kind humans. I’m so excited to share a few highlights from Maddi and Ryan’s wedding at Rustic Rose Barn, just north of Des Moines in central Iowa!

Alex and Chuck have been together for many years, and decided that it was time to celebrate their relationship with a wedding and stepping into marriage! After a year of planning, this day came together like only a dream could. This wedding brought me SO much joy! From the heartfelt toasts by family, the friends celebrating the couple on the dance floor, and the warm hospitality extended by the couple and wedding party… I couldn’t have asked for a better day to celebrate with Grace and Theo at the 1868 Farmhouse in Boone!!
The sweetest day— as any Iowan knows, March can be the most turbulent of months. Yet, the grace of God shone (as well as the sun!) and we had a beautiful Saturday for this sweet couple to celebrate their marriage with friends and family from around the country!
Have you heard of Fox Ridge Winery, just south of Waterloo? Chances are, you haven’t— but this spot is a hidden gem for Friday night live music… and Saturday weddings! ;) I loved getting to celebrate with Susie and David last fall at the most gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception. Dancing under the stars? Hurt’s Donuts? SIGN ME UP! I wish I could re-live this day, but going through wedding photos will have to do!
This wedding was a challenge, mainly due to the INTENSE cold! January doesn’t play around in Iowa, but thankfully we had some beautiful sunshine for this intimate downtown wedding at Bash DSM!
Alexandra & Andy got married on the loveliest rainy spring day in early May of 2021! This micro-wedding at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, and a backyard reception, will forever be a highlight for me.

I’ve been waiting for this wedding for over 12 months… so it was a joyful experience to have it arrive, and to have a WARM day in November for this stunning couple to celebrate their vows!
